TitleFind It & Fix It: Removing Bias in Your Content, Experiences, and Messaging

Not sure how to represent different ways of being human into your work? Tired of style and brand guides that don’t reflect your audience? Overwhelmed, frustrated or feel like you’re “doing it wrong”?

We've all encountered communications or content that left us feeling a little...well, not great. Materials that contain stereotypes, unintended bias, or other barriers that shut people out of the message. These cringeworthy moments can have a lasting impact - organizations can lose talent, revenue, and credibility.

Join us online to learn how patterns, images, or word choice can detract from your intended message.

We'll cover:

  • Bias, stereotypes, inequities, stigma, absences, ableism, and similar issues
  • Patterns, positioning, and proportion that create a negative association
  • Word choice and expressions that are exclusionary, offensive, or have negative origins
  • Design elements that make it difficult for humans to process information

This session takes you through three key areas:

  • Subtle (and not so subtle) ways that bias shows up in content
  • Where these issues can "hide" in materials, experiences, and communications
  • Practical tips and actions you can start (or stop) doing today
