![]() | Member Spotlight Marlena Grundy, PNW Strategic Legal Solutions, PLLC Member Since 2020 Back when I was a paralegal, I was severely injured in a catastrophic car crash. I experienced firsthand the struggles of trying to deal with abusive and overbearing insurance companies while trying to heal from a pelvis fractured in three places, broken ribs, and other injuries. On my third day in critical care at the UW Medical Center, I received a letter from my health insurance saying they wouldn’t pay my medical bills unless I promised to reimburse them from any personal injury settlement I received. That’s why I chose personal injury when I became a lawyer; I like fighting insurance companies. My experience makes me more empathetic towards my clients, whether they’ve experienced a car crash, slip and fall, medical insurance denial, medical malpractice, or any other injury from another person or corporation. |

Our Differences Strengthen Us
We welcome, embrace, and celebrate all the different ways of being. When we bring our full selves, each of us benefits from the unique experiences of others by having our ideas challenged and our perceptions elevated. We believe that cultivating Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity takes intentional action. We are unapologetically anti-racism, pro-LGBTQ+, pro-feminism, anti-ableism, and anti-ageism. This means we, as WBO, take a stand and will continue to push the boundaries of “business as usual.” Anything short of this would be inconsistent with our values and a disservice to those who came before us. For each of us to show up as our authentic selves, it requires safety and trust. We are committed to creating that safe space for you to connect, share, collaborate, and experiment in your business. We are not always going to get it right. But as business leaders and as humans, we have a responsibility to do the work, learn from being uncomfortable, and use what we have to amplify voices other than our own. There is a place for you here. |
